Guidelines for Profitable Retailing of Bedding Plants
         
1. Buy only top quality plants - Offer only fresh, top quality plants, consolidating them often so they don’t looked ‘picked over’.

2. Check for dryness - Check to see if plants need watering as soon as they arrive.
If dry, water thoroughly and with care, so soil is completely moist. CAUTION: Splashing water may cause flower spotting. Check again at regular intervals.

3. Display in a protected area - Display plants in a protected area, shielded from wind and rain; if displayed outside they are subject to complete loss at any time.

4. Place off the ground - Display plants off the ground at a convenient height - NEVER on asphalt, which absorbs the sun’s heat and dries plants out quickly.

5. Label plants properly - Check displays daily. Remove yellow leaves and wilted flowers and any plants you wouldn’t personally buy. Check daily for watering needs.
